We were contracted to construct a new build elective care centre as part of a £23 million contract for Aintree University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The contract involves the construction of a new four-storey building to provide an elective care centre, along with the associated external works and landscaping. The main accommodation will include four operating theatres, a number of general clinics, a radiology unit and a reception area with a feature staircase.
The building is linked back to the main Hospital via a high level link providing patient transfer facilities. The project was extended to include a 1250 space multi-storey car park which was procured in parallel to the main project. The original high level link was extended to connect directly to the car park.

Challenges and How we Managed these
Working adjacent to a fully operational hospital and A&E the project was subject to strict Health, Safety and Environmental Provision and all actions, tool box talks, inductions etc were recorded and where available for viewing by the clients Health and Safety Management.
Pier Construction monitored the programme and resource requirements on weekly basis and worked seamlessly with Vinci Construction to ensure that correct labour allocation was provided and work areas were available at the correct time.
